Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Ellie sighed as she watched them banter back and forth. "I try to make a habit of not eating people I have met, makes it awkward." She filled Nick in after his last statement. Other then being a flirt she wondered why Sam had a problem with the man, he seemed just fine to her.

Lyra grinned and shifted to her skunk form. She figured she was more likely to scare someone away like this but at least she blended for the most part in the darkened room. She waited for Alexis to shift so they could go sniff things out and see who it was.
"Go big or go home, is what I say," Nick said.

"Or go big and go home," Samantha added. She tossed her hair over her shoulder as she stood and rounded the table.

Nick raised an eyebrow at her but refrained from saying anything as she slipped into a chair across from him. "Sometimes awkward can be fun," he said, looking to Ellie with a mischievous smile. "And here she is, practically on your plate. Shall I fetch a jar of honey for you?"

Alexis followed suit. Glancing to Lyra, she turned and headed towards the kitchen to investigate.

Lucy leaned forward to inspect the board. After a moment of consideration, she moved the same piece previously used. "Dark spaces, diagonal only, for your fyi," she said, straightening up. He had done so thus far, but she added it just in case.
Victor nodded, moving another piece, but sticking to the sides of the board. He was trying to control both sides as best as possible. He looked up at her, analyzing her next move carefully.

Ellie shook her head and chuckled. "No thanks, bats don't have much meat on them. And with bat I would prefer something more like a garlic butter with some herbs or something. And you two should seriously get a room at this point." She said simply with a shrug of her shoulders.

Lyra followed after Alexis and sniffed around the door to see if she could figure out what sort of critters these two were. She smelled Horse and cat after a while, well that was an interesting combo if she had ever seen one. She crept to a better vantage point and sat on her haunches and watched them quietly.

"You better get the garlic after you kill me," Samantha quipped, feeling at ease enough now to partake in this conversation, even if it was about eating her. But with Ellie's following comment, she stiffened and muttered under her breath.

"Oh trust me, I've tried," Nick joked, noticing her movement. He took a swallow of his soda then pushed it aside. "Yeah, no. That ain't happening. Sam's subconsciously decided that she will forever hate me. Can't for the life of me figure out why, though, except for my flirting which apparently doesn't meet her high and mighty standards." Smiling, he inclined his head toward Ellie." But who needs a bat when a lovely honey badger walks onto the scene."

Alexis seated herself in the doorway and looked around. They looked familiar, but she couldn't recall their names if she had met them. They were distracted with each other—which left her feeling a tad bit jealous—thankfully, so they probably wouldn't noticed her and Lyra sneaking around the pantry.

Victor nodded, moving another piece, but sticking to the sides of the board. He was trying to control both sides as best as possible. He looked up at her, analyzing her next move carefully.
Lucy moved a piece onto a vacant spot on his far side of the board. "King me," she said, holding out her palm for a captured piece. "If you reach the opposite side, you get the ability to move forward and backward," she explained.

Victor looked at her with raised eyebrows. He complained playfully "You probably just made that up, didn't you? Cheater." He did eventually crown her as she told him he should, then proceeded to eat another of her pieces by moving one of his pieces out of the side.

Vasper was quite as he looked to Amaryllis with uncertainty, but nodded. "Ok, love. I'll do it. I'll stay with you. Even Haley couldn't object, we will be chaperoned in a way." He said quietly as he took her I to his arms for a hug.

Amaryllis smiled broadly as Vasper used love as his term of endearment for her. "I don't think Haley objects us spending time together anymore." She said, the innocence of the statement unknown to her. She eagerly accepted his hold, resting her head against his head since she was too short to reach higher. Wrapping her arms around him she sighed contently.

Lucy shrugged. "Read the instructions if you don't believe me," she said simply. When he took his turn, taking one of her pieces in the process, she rebounded by jumping over two of his. She stacked them neatly on the side then looked up at him with a smile.

Victor looked at her in disbelief as she jumped over two of his pieces, leaving only two left. He stuttered exaggeratedly, "Is there a forfeit button somewhere? Because you're destroying me." With a sigh of defeat, he moved his piece so she could eat his remaining pieces in the next turn.
