Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

"You don't like the food?" Cyra asked curiously as she stepped through the opened door. The food had never been her favorite, but after it being the only thing she had to eat for the last few years she had grown used to it.

Amaryllis took his hand gently in response. Her expression was kind and loving as her gaze met his. "You're welcome." She whispered, not wanting their moment together to be interrupted by waking Anuerin.
Indigo sighed softly and said simply, "It will work in a pinch when no better options are available, but as far as being note worthy, not likely. Plus all the different aromas mixing aren't very pleasant for my hyper sensitive sense of smell. Certain enhanced traits are often a curse more then a blessing in confined places." He tried for a better topic of discussion and opted for a strategic question. "So, what do you think of Dimitri?"

Vasper squeezed her hand lovingly as they enjoyed this quiet moment together. It was very nice, although a bit awkward considering who's room they were now in.His eyes drifted over to Anuerin's sleeping form. Everything about his wings looked painful. He grimaced as he imagined what that would feel like to have appendages cut off and reattached. "Mercy, that had to hurt terribly. " He whispered in sympathy for her brother .

Intertwining his fingers, Priam relaxed into his chair as he tried to convert mental images of outside into words that would bring it to life enough for Irene. “Yes,” he said softly, “it is an island. I haven’t been to the other end of it, mainly because I stick close to the mansion to keep an eye on Atalanta, but I’ve heard there’s a town with stores and a couple cafes.” Perhaps it was a bit shameful that he hadn’t been over there, especially considering all the time he had to explore if he wanted to, but his sister was, and always had been, his number one priority. “Directly outside the mansion there is a garden full of a large variety of tropical shrubs and flowers and some fruit trees. There’s a dirt path through it. Beyond that, there is obviously the ocean. I don’t know how far it stretches; I don’t even think anyone but Ryker really knows where we are.”
***
“Ashton,” Allen said, slightly irritated with the crypticness of her words, “Just tell it to me straight, please. If it’s not Gideon, and it’s not Ryker, then who are you so concerned about??”

Haley laughed aloud at that. “A bedtime story! We’ll see about that. I’m not sure I know any stories. At least not any ones fit for children.” Her enthusiasm faded as she sensed the shift in his mood. She glanced from him to the road ahead. “Do you think anyone would notice if we just stayed in the car?” She asked jokingly.
Irene smiled as she listened to him describe the outside. She let her mind go with the images his words brought to mind. She closed her eyes to bet visualize the garden and ocean in the distance. The breeze and sound of the waves striking unyielding rock completed the scene. " Oh, it sounds like a paradise out there. Thank you for sharing it through your eyes, Priam. That was very sweet of you." She said with a measure of childlike enthusiasm, though it was tempered by a sudden shyness in the end. She looked to him when she opened her eyes once more. "I love the ocean. In fact, where I lived, it was always in the background. A steady and constant sound not unlike a heartbeat that let you know you weren't dead yet." She said fondly of her Scotland home.

"I'm concerned about hurting you, alright . Are you happy now, Hairspray? You've weaseled into my life and somehow you've come to matter to me. I don't make friends easily and that's what you've come to mean to me. If you got hurt because of me, I'd be sad and hate myself more then I ever thought I could." Ashton stated with rare emotion as she sought to not feel so vulnerable with that reveal.

Dyrus looked to Haley confused at first by her seemingly random statement when he understood her reference. He chuckled softly as the turned into the long driveway. "It couldn't hurt to try, I guess. Although, the cameras would be on us. But that's usually as private as the mansion ever gets. Besides it's getting late and we should probably get our girl settled for the night . I hear plants get up at the crack of dawn. Rain or shine." He said with humor.

“It’s no problem,” Priam said, shifting his gaze to his hands as he attempted to downplay it. It really wasn’t a problem in the least, and he’d much rather be here chatting with a pretty redhead than trying to converse in the loud dining room. When she spoke again, he looked up, meeting her gaze at the same time. “That’s very poetic of you,” He said thoughtfully. “I’ve told you about the island; would you mind telling me about your home?”

Allen wanted to facepalm for his ignorance of what she made sound so obvious, but he refrained, feeling now was not the time, especially with her being open for a rare moment. “So that’s it. You care...about me.” He bit down a smirk as he slipped his hands into his pockets and walked a small circle, thinking. “Why didn’t you say so earlier?” He asked, pivoting on his heel to face her. “I told you when I first met you, and I’ll tell you again: I don’t care what you can do and what you’ve done. It’s irrelevant, as far as I’m concerned. Ashton, I’ve enjoyed these past few days pretty much more than all the years previous, and the common denominator is you. So if I choose to hang out with you, even if you have ‘deadly toxins’, that choice is mine. My life is my own to be concerned about. Besides, what would be the value of life if there wasn’t any risk?”

“Don’t tell her this, but I don’t think plants have legs with which to get up,” Haley said teasingly. She gathered up her jacket and the small bag the plant was in to save doing it when they stopped. “But I understand what you mean. I just hope that she won’t wake me if she wakes up at dawn.”

(Oh snap...I honestly have no clue. Last I remember he was fleeing Lyra's room. lol )

Ellie shrugged a little at his question that sounded oddly like a statement. "I suppose you could say that. I do enjoy doing things with people, just a select few is all." She pointed out for him.

Lyra just chuckled and shook her head, although the topic was quite serious she could tell Alexis was joking. "Well I may not be able to spray them per say but I could still release that toxic bomb in the area. I think in the very least that would drive them off. I mean my animal spray can clear a room." She said with a smirk.
(Haha! That’s probably right. Thanks.)

“And am I one of those ‘few select people’?” Nick asked, giving her toothy smile. “You’re still here, talking to me, so that’s got to count for something. Right?”

Alexis speared a bite of egg with her fork, but instead of eating it, waved it around as she talked. “I’ve really got to see that before I die. Which could be, like, today, I guess. So preferably sooner rather than later.” She set the fork down as she threw her head back, laughing at the mental image of everyone scattering from the spray-filled room.
