Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Amaryllis remained unmoving, her breath quieted, as she listened to the sound of teenagers talking together a few feet from the dumpster.

(Silkie, can you play the teenagers?)
(Will do ;) )

The older of the two, a gangly redhead, picked up a handful of pebbles from the ground. "Hey Pete, check this out," he said, beckoning to his pal. He threw first one, then another pebble hard at a window above. Pete barely acknowledged him as he was foraging among the ground debris for something more interesting than pebbles. Noticing the dumpster up ahead, he wandered towards it.
-
Haley had just lowered herself from the third to second story window ledge when she sensed a rustling. Movement. The curtain flew open and she locked eyes with a small child inside. The two stood frozen, the child sucking its thumb and Haley balancing on the window ledge, her fingers pressed tightly against the top of the frame. The child reacted first, immediately bursting into tears from surprise and because its mother had deprived it of a cookie for breakfast. Haley prepared to lower herself and continue, not knowing what else to do, when her she lost her grip on the rim.

Amaryllis' breathing grew heavy as the footsteps came closer. There was nothing for her to do but stay hidden and hope that they would pass.

Pete stood on tiptoe in order to see what the dumpster contained. He instantly recoiled when he spotted blood. "Ewww. Hey Joey, check this out," he said eagerly, as boys often do when they find nasty gruesome stuff. Joey came over, reluctantly as he was having a jolly good time of hitting windows, and peered in as well. The two were oblivious to the presence of Amaryllis, at least for now.

The child, whose crying had slowed some, came closer to the window, climbing on to the sofa back to see where the strange lady had gone. Haley fought the desire to scream as she fell, the air rushing towards and around her. Halfway down something triggered in her mind and she managed to twist around enough to see below. The area in the alley was tight but, thanks to her repositioning, she was able to land on her feet, rolling immediately after to lighten the impact on her knees and ankles. She lay there for as long as she dared, taking deep breaths and replaying in her head what she had just done.

"Leave me alone." Anuerin snapped finally, his hints of wanting to be left alone gone unnoticed. "Alright?"

Ashton pulled back a bit and frowned in thought before she asked, "Oh! I'm sorry, did you want some cheese with your whine? I think we have an old pack of parmesan around here somewhere."

(:gig )

Amaryllis tried so hard to not move that she began shaking against her will. Suddenly Amaryllis lungs became irritated by some unseen germ and she began to cough before she was able to stop herself.

"Yes." Laurel answered softly, stepping a few feet farther from the door as it was closed behind her.

Aralyn pretended to have not heard him, but when she left the room she immediately went to request the assistance of Ryker's most trusted doctor. She then retreated to the solitude of her cell to think.

Alastor smiled welcoming and said, "Wonderful! I'm sorry I missed our first introduction I was off Island taking care of a few things for Ryker. Please, have as seat. " He looked up as Eric stepped into the room. "Yes?" He asked curiously.

Eric looked to Laurel before he stated. "Leverett is, um. Well, incapacitated. It seems he's had an accident in the form of Aralyn. His shoulders dislocated. Should I try to move him?"

Alastor sighed softly. "No, I'll go to him. No need to cause him more pain bringing him here." He explained. He looked to Laurel and asked, "Do you want to come or wait here?"
~~~
Leverett tried to sit up and wailed in pain. "Mon Petit! I'll get you for this, you just wait for it!!" He yelled up at the ceiling. He knew Aralyn was long gone, but it still made him feel better.
"Complicated has its pros and cons," Alexis stated quietly. She stared at the shelf for a moment before looking up to say, "Tiger with a teddy bear Heart. Sounds like a horrid children's book!" She laughed as she pictured it in her head. She then tapped her nail against a spot on the shelf. "It would become a classic and go right here in our organizing."
Dimitri grinned widely and indulged in the fantasy, "Is that right? And what would such horrid book be called sporting a "W" name? Wizard of Oz perhaps? No wait, that was the Tin Man that needed a heart and the Cowardly Lion courage." He replied teasingly.
