Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Dimitri had been watching from an adjacent classroom. He sat quietly in the darkened room and watched Alexis through the open doorway. When she left, he gained his feet and followed after her. He had mischief in mind. He silently stocked her, before taking a short cut and hiding in a door nook. He waited until she passed him to state, "What about witnesses? "
Alexis jumped in surprise, her hand flying to her heart. "Is it a habit of yours to hide and scare unsuspecting people??" She demanded, spinning on her heel and coming face to face with a young man.

" I would apologize, but it is the nature of my beast. Tigers are ambush predators, so it's only natural to maintain the element of surprise." Dimitri said with slight humor. "I'm Dimitri by the way. " he added, as he held out his hand in greeting.

"Well, I suppose it is the nature of my beast to be scared," Alexis chuckled. "Alexis, or Alex, and I'm a 'scary' tabby cat," she said as she accepted his handshake. "I think his lordship was lacking inspiration the day I arrived," she rolled her eyes.

"In Russia, I'd watched a feral dog try to make a meal of a young kitten. Until the smallish tabby mother fought it off and saved her kitten. I often wondered what a mother's love like that would feel like." Dimitri stated quietly. He looked up to met her eyes and smiled, "Perhaps it's not the tabby's size he instilled within you. But the spirit of her ability of conquer insurmountable obstacles."

Alex nodded slowly as she comprehended what he had just said. "You've been to Russia?" She asked, hardly acknowledging everything he had just said. She wasn't fond of talking about herself to others. She felt like her past was for herself to know and others to probably never find out.
