Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Madison's keen eyes caught her cringe and moved to gently work the tender muscle. "You're heading fast, that good. It's usually one of the perks of our engineered existence. " She explained.

The man between them grew impatient at the prolonged wait. He grumbled about timid females.

Leverett chuckled softly at the man's words, but wanted for his turn out into the isle.

"Wish I could have had that ability when I lived with my father." Laurel smiled playfully towards Madison, secretly understanding the full weight of her words. It was true. Her father had beaten her so often and so thoroughly that there were countless memories that she couldn't forgot, each time thinking in certainty that she would die. Laurel kept silent as Madison's touch caused her shoulder to flare in extreme pain.

Aralyn exited the airplane as quickly as she was given the opportunity, even if that meant pushing past those group of people who stood in her way with the least concern of being gentle.

"Andorra, if you die, just know that," Alexis paused, looking Andorra very seriously in the face, "I would do my very best to drag you the remaining way!" She finished with a grand smile
--------
"Well that is truly depressing, even more so because it's the reality of the majority of us here," Zaine said quietly. He stared down at his hands for a moment then looked up at Dimitri. "Does this place have a library or something?" He asked.

Andorra paused to take in that statement, before she burst into wild laughter. "Oh, my! Let's get there before you put my postmortem body through that indignity." She said with humor.
~~~
"I imagine it has too. They don't trust us with an Internet. So it seems old school is the way to go. Want to go hunt it up? I love a good mystery. " Dimitri said with mounting interest.
Haley tried to think of something reassuring to tell Amaryllis, but she knew she was right. Aneurin had left them, and likely he wasn't coming back. She set her hand lightly on Amaryllis' shoulder, giving her a sad smile, before going over to the food and took inventory. What was there would last a few days, at the most, split evenly between the two of them. But splitting even wouldn't do. Haley could tell the girl was weak, so she decided to make sure Amaryllis was given larger portions when they ate.
"Here," she said quietly as she handed Amaryllis a slice of bread with cheese and an apple. "Do you feel well enough to continue on?" She asked.
Amaryllis took the bread with a grateful, yet sorrowful smile. She ate slowly, unable to eat as she thought of the danger her brother was in. Drawn from her thoughts, Amaryllis suddenly noticed that Haley had less food then her. Knowing she meant well, Amaryllis put the food she had touched in her pocket. She may be weak, but she was determined to find her brother. She knew they were a long way from civilization, until they reached a city they needed to stretch out the food they had for as long as they could.
(Did you see her form?)
"It would be with good intention, of course," Alexis said. "You wouldn't rather me leave you here, by yourself and dead, in the hall, right?"
---------
"Sure," Zaine agreed. He stood and headed for the door.
(Yep! :) )
Haley finished her own apple and threw the core as hard as she could, then watched it land far off into some brush. "I think we should head west," she said, pointing westward. "I don't know what we'll find, but we might as well start off in some direction." She decided against saying anything about Aneurin to Amaryllis, at least for now. They needed to get moving before guards came searching for them.
Madison scented her pain and stopped what she was doing. "Sorry for that. I was trying to help it, not make it worse. " She replied quietly.
Leverett swung his backpack up on his shoulder as he walked over to her as the made their way to the exit gate. "Anger issues, ma petite? " He asked with mild humor.
Amaryllis gathered the food left behind by Aneurin, sighing as she looked westward. Turning back, she nodded her aggreement.
"I know." Laurel stated gently. "It's alright, I suppose I'm still sore from the stiches." She thought aloud, hoping Madison would understand. She had almost forgotten how painful her wound had been when the medicine Ryker had given her finally wore off.
"No, but rather determintion to do what needs to be done. I was sent on this mission with you, for this reason, as it is an element you lack."
Aralyn replied harshly.
"Not reckless... Well. Maybe a little. I think everyone enjoys the feeling." When they were sitting in the parking lot, he stared at Ryker,"Provoke ire, sir? I-I don't know. He squirmed in his seat slightly. He didn't like being put in the spotlight like this to admit his faults.
"Then let me rephrase the question. Why did you lock the guard up, knowing that it would make me mad?" Ryker asked, his tone getting a bit colder.
"Sir...." He bit his lip"I told you. It was just a stupid prank. I didn't mean anything by it. I didn't know you cared so much about one... Expendable guard, sir. I was minding my own business... I had gotten my new copy of Physics Today. Very good read, I would completely recommend it. Anyway he was walking by with coffee and BAM! No more Physics Today. I told him the cell door was defective. Swiped his key card and BAM! No more guard. I lost him. It was in the new wing. Oh! Speaking of the new wing, I think some of the structural design may be faulty. It's not the architects fault, there's a lot of drainage setting in that general area from water, ect. I'll email you what I've found. We can fix it or not fix it but if not the foundation might shift around or erode away.." He changed the subject to not leave things on an unhappy note.
