Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

"French." Laurel answered without hesitation. "He speaks fluent french, and I am eager to learn."

Alastor glanced over to Laurel with admiration of her thirst for knowledge and said, " The betterment of oneself is never time wasted. That was something my father used to say when I was just a mere child. I have always found it to be sound advice. Good luck on your lessons, Laurel."

Leverett smiled proudly to Laurel and gave a respectful nod to her.

"What??" Alexis gave him a confused face which immediately turned into a frown. "Oh, that." She leaned back on her heels so she could converse and go through the bottom shelf books. "I have no whip, sir. Unless you'd like to count my tongue, cause I've gotten you pretty good so far, if I do say so myself!" She quipped.

" No, I'll never underestimate the power of a good tongue-lashing. It is most useful in putting people in their place. But caution to you, Alexis. For duct tape is an effective tool against that instrument of ridicule." Dimitri said with a chuckle.

Haley put her hand to her forehead as her thoughts raced. Amaryllis in a strange city by herself, and as weak as she was, wouldn't make it. Haley didn't think either of them would make it, but she now realized how stupid that idea had been. The scent of their pursuers had freaked her out then and she hadn't thought about the plan nearly as much as she should have. "What was I thinking," she murmured softly to herself as she paced the narrow alley. She turned to see where the men were and, locating them, headed towards where she had separated from her charge. With any luck, Amaryllis wouldn't be far from that, but the most likely case was that she had been found, Haley knew.

Dyrus stood and looked around as he looked to the spot that was parallel to the spot that they were just at no more the minutes ago. "She was standing here. But did you see us from this spot? " He muttered under his breath as he analyzed the scene. He was pretty sure she had. " She saw us from this spot. We no longer have the element of surprise, she'll be running hard and fast now." He then trailed off as he took in the air again. "You doubled back, you clever little minx! Call Vasper's group, give them a heads up. She's doing what I think she is, they'll may have company soon." Dyrus said as he started backtracking the down the adjacent alleyway.

Amaryllis inhaled sharply as Vasper grabbed her leg and dragged her closer to him. She fought with all her strength to break free, but it was impossible, and soon more men came to hold her still. "Please don't hurt me." She whimpered, her pleading ignored by Vasper who immediately bit into her leg. She screamed in pure agony as Vasper's fang sank into her leg and she felt her bone collapse beneath the weight of his jaw. She let her upper body fall limply untop of the dusty ground, groaning as the men applied a tourniquet and watched Vasper with digust as he devoured her flesh.

Two of the mercenaries pick up Amaryllis carefully and started carrying her off to meet the car in route to the end of the alleyway. While the medic took his canteen of water out. He washed his hands and used the rest to dilute most of the blood on the ground into the dirt. He looked to Vasper and asked, " That was particularly brutal, even for you. Why her foot?"

Vasper had finished and shifted his jaws back to normal. He reached forward to wash his hands and face in the stream of water. As he shook off the excess water, he looked to him with resolute finality. " To ensure she'll never run from Ryker again. Cause face it, it's pretty hard to run when you can't even walk." He said with a shrug while drying his hands upon his removed shirt.

"You're cold, Vasper." The medic said as he capped the canteen. "Remind me to never cross you." He stated as he turned and started for the others.

"Don't cross me or you'll be sorry. " Vasper called out to him as he whipped his face on his shirt and threw in a dumpster, before following after them all.

The medic's phone rang and he answered listening to Jarvis carefully. "Alright, will do. I'll let everyone know. " He replied before ending the call. He the spread the word about Haley doubling back and be on high alert.

"HA! As if you would actually use duct tape on me," Alexis scoffed, but she took the info to heart. She was aware that she was a bit of a blabber. At the labs, it had been her only form of protection. But here, different environment with different people, not guards out to get her, she realized she would have to watch what she said.

Haley took a sharp turn down a street then came back around, following the path she had directed Amaryllis to take. She couldn't follow the girl's exact path, not by smell at least, since that wasn't the best of her senses. She stopped to catch her breath and listen. Knowing any delay now would bring the hunters closer, she only stopped long enough to pick up on the nearest sound: a handful of voices, but none Amaryllis'. Nonetheless, she headed towards them, desperate for anything that would hint at where her friend was.

Nova parked the car and looked to him before undoing their belts and going around to help him out "Now, what to do with you while I watch you?" She said thoughtfully. She didn't know where to put him until Ryker got back

Anuerin wiggled out from the car, careful to not hit his head while getting out before he stood to his full height. He waited silently for Nova to decide what she would do with him.

Amaryllis allowed herself to be carried limply by the mecenaries; too weak to fight, too weak even to express her pain except for an occasional moaning of pain increased by either being carried or by the tourniquet.

Nova tossed the keys to another so the car could be put up before taking his arm and walking inside with him. She wasn't rough with him, since she did like him, but she wasn't just going to let him go either. She looked to him as she opened the door so they could go in "Why did you leave?" The question had been on her mind since Ryker came to get her.
(guys, I don't know what this place has or what to do with him.)
