Maddox sat up in the water and splashed her gently with a laugh. He swam away and splashed her again. He then dove underwater and realized her could use his wings to help propel him even faster under the water.

Layla laughed dryly at his comment. Wouldn't that be nice, someone to trust. "You make it almost sound like fate, letting someone find me. The last time I had some one like that, had a friend she left me to the wolves. Made me go to such drastic measures to become what I am today. What's to say that won't happen again?" She asked looking at him, how could he know what she needed. That she would find someone to listen to her and help her find her place in the world.

Charles said quietly "I never said it would happen for sure. But you should try to take the risk, because the reward would be worth it." He added, "I think so at least. You could have a friend that could be there for you, or share love with another person. The rewards outweigh the risks, in my opinion. But it is yours that matters."

Haley put a hand to her forehead as she searched for words to say in reply to this man. Was he Ryker? She closed her eyes and reopened them, which helped her regain focus enough to confirm that, yes, it was indeed. "Um, an accident," she mumbled. She leaned against the wall as she looked from him to the other two people, who she didn't recognize simply because she didn't know them. "Venom in Anuerin's room. He needs antivenom or something, quickly."

"What?!" Ryker replied already headed for his stored venom and anti-venom. He had to know which type first and upon inspection, he realized the black mamba venom was gone. All of it! "You stupid twit!" He muttered as he grabbed the Anti-Venom and several syringes, before dashing back to Haley. "Did you touch it with you bare hands?!" He shook his head and gave her a shot anyway. He then took off at a run to get to his son's room as fast as possible taking the stairs.

Elliot looked down a bit embarrassed, and began eating some more. He waited for her to say something, he was nervous. Maybe she didn't want him to kiss her hand. He took some candy as well, eating quietly after the moment of affection.

Laurel quickly left Razeth's side, and went to fetch a chair. Gently she guided the girl to seat herself in the chair. "Go help him." Laurel insisted Ryker, not knowing who Anuerin was, but understanding that he needed help, fast.

Amara laughed and gave him the smiley face drawing. She looked up then wondering when the class would end before looking at Dimitri and adding. "You should hang on to that art like liquor gains value with age."
