Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

Ryker followed her gaze to Leverett and dipped his head to look down to the floor. " It would take a liter of your blood to heal his injuries. That's 1/5 of your blood. It's too much for you right now." Ryker said stubbornly. He looked up to her as his expression turned clouded. "I haven't stopped looking for a suitable heart. When I do find it, I'll put it in you." He said more as a vow, then a sentence.
Amaryllis looked away with a expression evident of her disappointment, but she nodded her head in compliance. If she couldn't convince Ryker to help her, she would find a way to transfer her blood to Leverett without him.

Zaine peered in curiously. "Can I see some of your work, maybe?" He said, meeting her gaze just briefly. "If you don't mind, that is."

Sam didn't flinch. She merely continued her staring and calculations, keeping Liam in sight as well in case Eliana went haywire. "You know why you're locked in a cage, right?" She said, raising her brow at the woman. "It's like a cycle. Isn't it, Liam. Naughty, cage, cage makes more naughty, more naughty makes more cage. But even cycles can be broken, Eliana. I'm not in a cage, nor am I cuffed or locked in a lab with a mug of tea to pacify me—which isn't doing much, by the looks of it." Dropping her hands to her sides, she moved to the front of the table, nearer the woman. "Do you know how to break it?" She said, lowing her voice to a murmur.

Lyra looked back up at him, considering his question. She pulled out her sketch book and flipped it open to a sketch of a dragon curled possessive around a hoard of gold. "Yeah I guess there is no harm in that. Mostly what i have in here are just sketches, feel free to flip through it." She said as she handed it to him, she admitted to herself she was a bit nervous. She didn't show her art to a whole lot of people.

Liam looked at Sam, "I don't think you should poke this one Sam, just a thought." He said nervously as he moved away from the wall thinking he should get some help in case the inevitable happened.

Eliana tensed, did they think she was stupid? "of course I know the reason I am in a cage, and I also know how to break the cycle. But I find it hard to behave for people who KIDNAPPED ME AND TURNED ME INTO A FREAK AND THEN LOCKED ME IN A BLOODY CAGE!" She screamed at her. Asking her to behave made about as much sense as expecting a rabid dog not to try and kill you. She felt herself losing control and knew that any promise she had made to Alastor at this point was probably a lost cause.

(You just had to pock and prod the crazy one didn't ya. )

Ares stared at her, confused as to whether she was putting up an act and was suddenly going to be decent and joking about things with that laughter, or if it was sarcastic. Her leopard insult—if it could be called that—didn't bug him in the least, however. "Yes, and measly cheetahs like you just keep running from everything," he said cooly.

"Even a simple painkiller won't help?" Priam shrugged, not entirely convinced that nothing could be done, at least temporarily, to relieve Leverett's discomfort.

Allen paused his zipping. He narrowed his eyes at her, trying to gauge the truth in her sentence. "Okay, frog, one more chance. But you're getting a small handful because your last truth was nothing new."

Haley searched his face, reading what wasn't said verbally and committing to memory what was. "Oh, Dyrus," she murmured, pulling him closer by his wrist. "I didn't take your meaning to be negative, I was just saying what I felt needed to be said. But it put my name on your lips so I'm not complaining." She chuckled lightly, but it was interrupted by a quiet sob. "You make me very, very happy, Dyrus, and you don't know the compliment you pay me with your words. You've given me a reason to stay. To fight for myself, for us. I don't think I was ever prepared for you either."
Andorra sobered as she raised an eyebrow. "I think you watched eyelid cinema on that documentary about cheetahs. (That means he slept through it.) . Since you left off the most important and iconic part about cheetahs. They're the fastest land animal on the Earth. So where you think were running from everything, we're actually the only animals that can run down darn near everything. So watch it leppard!" She said with mild annoyance.

Leverett shook his head, " Pain pills would take thirty minutes to an hour to start working. Morphine, only mere seconds since it is administered intravenous." He explained quietly. Wait? Was he an addict already? He wondered absently at his random knowledge.

"It was a partial truth! You're so exasperating, Allen!" Ashton hollered impatiently as she did a little stompy dance in a tight circle. When she stopped a few seconds later, she took a deep calming breath and held her hand back out expectedly. "Are we doing this or not?"
~~~
Dyrus grinned and cupped her cheek tenderly. "I'm pleased you feel that way. Now, I don't ever talk about taking my life again. I don't like that you even mentioned it. " He said with a grumbly growl, for emphasis.
(Aw, Alastor will be wondering where she went and will be blaming himself for this. :hit)
Alastor glanced discreetly to Leverett and then Amaryllis, before focusing back on Harper. He stated equally as confidential as possible. "Because she is fragile and she'd already gave blood for Razeth spinal injury. We can't keep siphoning off her life force. She hadn't yet recovered from her near collapse mere hours before Leverett fell. So we had to fix him up naturally. We'd planned on giving him an infusion when we could. But then this happened and she's depleted again. It's not favoritism, it's priority. He will not die of his injuries. Yes, his injuries are painful, but not life-threatening. The pain can be managed with painkillers..... which he is due for a dose, come to think of it. Would you mind?"
Harper listened to his reasoning and agreed completely. She had noticed that even taking the small amount of blood needed for Irene hand seemed to take a lot out of Amaryllis. "That makes sense. Irene is stable for now and her vitals look good so I will go take care of Leverett." With that Harper got up and gathered the appropriate drugs at the right dosage and headed over to Leverett and Priam.
"Hey Leverett looks like your due for some more pain medication. Before it kicks in how would you rate your pain level?" She asked as she administered the morphine. It was important for her to know how he was handling the pain and how the medication was managing it to insure the best care.
Amaryllis looked away with a expression evident of her disappointment, but she nodded her head in compliance. If she couldn't convince Ryker to help her, she would find a way to transfer her blood to Leverett without him.
Ryker felt bad at having cause Amaryllis to look away. He said to her to try and less the sting, "Amaryllis I understand what you want to do. It's a testament to your character. But you are still mortal. You have limitations and I'm your doctor. Please listen to me. I'm not being cruel or trying to damper your spirit. If anything ever happened to you, Amaryllis......I would lose you both. For Anuerin would never forgive me."
"You're not helping your case any," Ares said, with a smirk. "As fastest animal, despite your teeny tiny stature, there's a chance you could catch even a big fat tiger by surprise. So did you do it or not?"
Priam moved over to make room between the beds for Harper. "And speaking of morphine," he said, smiling slightly at the two of them.
( :lau )
Allen reached out to poke her in the ribs, then withdrew quickly. "Yeah, yeah, here you go, frog," he said, grumbling at her demand. He unzipped the bag and poured a minimal amount into her outstretched palm. "Now talk."
Haley happily smiled back. "I won't," she promised. She turned away, nearly colliding with the cart. "Unless you want to keep perusing, maybe grab some pink paint, let's get this to the checkout," she suggested, glancing at the items they had.
