So this morning my chicks are acting as if they are chilled for some reason. They are in our coop which is old and is drafty but the chicks are inside a brooder which has draft guards around all side. I also have two heat lamps in for them, which I've lowered quite a bit and they still are huddling together. It did get cold here last night, into the 30s. I've checked for drafts and can't really feel any. I'm concerns because huddling leads to piling and piling leads to dead chicks. Not sure what else to do. Any ideas that I could try to warm them up? Think they're just cold because it's such a cool morning and will warm up as the day goes on? They all ate great this morning but the huddling does concern me. I guess I should add there is no loud, constant chirping like there would be if they're cold.

You could add more draft guards to another side of the brooder, like an L shape, so they have some place that is completely draft free. It could be because it was a chilly morning, but any draft is going to sweep heat from the brooder.
Hopefully they've warmed up and spread out by now.

Thank you for the reply! Yes, a little bit after posting they did start spreading out more and acting more normal. I think it may have just been the chilly morning. Hopefully thats all it was. Ill be keeping an eye on things for sure.
