I'm a new flock mother for the first time in my life and am loving it! I have a fenced garden that I let my bantams run around several hours each day before bedtime in their coop. I have a seedling "umbrella type china berry tree" that I wanted to transplant into the garden to provide fabulous shade. (living in central Texas with triple digit temperatures this summer!

) However my mother suggested I find out if the berries that fall from these trees are poisonous to chickens...
Any ideas, experience or wisdom? Thanks for any input.

They are poisionous, I am pretty sure.

However there's about 20 of them less than 15 feet from my coop and my chickens hang out there aaalll day on hot days. The berries are all over the ground, but I've never seen one eat them and no one has ever become ill.
