I saw it..i actually saw it. They put a monkey in this low table that they sit around. The monkey was placed in a hole in the center of the table so just the head stuck up through the table. then they took mallets and beat its head open while it was screaming..it was the most revolting/SICK thing i have ever saw..its not a myth.

edited to say..its been a long time since i saw it but it was in Faces of Death...i think the 1st one..maybe... anyways ,it IS true.

Thankfully, that part of that horrid video was most likely fake. While that video did contain some real elements, it also contained much that was faked/staged. Not to say that animal abuse doesn't happen, but you can wipe that icky mental image out of your mind as a rubber mask and a skull form with gelatin and red dye number 5 for extra gross out factor.

Thought id let everyone know the monkey story gave me nightmares.

When I went to Beijing we were served "Hundred Year Old Eggs". They cover the eggs in tar, bury them for about a month, dig them up and serve. The yolk turns black and the white turns green. Tastes about like you might think. It's a delicacy now but I'll just bet that was something they came up with during a famine to preserve the eggs longer than usual.

Yeah, I get pretty disgusted by what some cultures consider a "delicacy". Some of the reasoning behind what some people eat also makes me shake my head as in some cases it's steeped in erroneous belief systems. Eat tiger meat to gain the tigers strength etc..... too bad the tiger is on the endangered species list now.

I also don't agree with the statement that because we're not perfect we should not criticize others. No, we should not only criticize others when they do immoral things, but we should also criticize ourselves when we do immoral things in the hopes of making improvements. To silence criticism only allows those who perpetuate immoral acts to continue unimpeded.

I really don't care what people eat....to each his own but I don't agree with any kind of torturing an animal to kill it or anything of that nature....some countries do like to torture animals to kill them I have found through my own research. China or somewhere like that where they eat lots of dogs...well, some think that if a dog is scared to death before it dies then the meat tastes better so they hang them up and beat them to death or beat them right before slaughter. Sad but true. We can only hope that their own countries recognize torture and stops that kind of procedures with their own foods.......JMO
