Chinese Chestnuts?

Just wondering if I can't toss some of these into the run for the chickens to peck at. No, they're not horse chestnuts, but the ones people eat. I've got three trees in the front which produce more than I can ever use.

my side yard is full of them (pain in my.....) but my chickens never touch them. I dont know if they are harmful or not though.

Salright.. I didn't think they would mess with them much, but figured just incase I'd check and see if anyone had any experience.

Those things are the reason why I bought one of these...

Gets 98% of them without issue.. Unless I run over them too much and push them into the dirt..

Id love to cut that tree down but its so big it shades my entire house and yard. My grandfather planted them, he liked to eat them. note to self - dont wear flip flops in the yard
