hi, new here.....i bought a one week old white chinese gosling (I also hatched a sebastopol gosling from a few others I have), they both female (I think).....but my chinese one her left leg is not straight when she stands up, is bent and like sticks out a bit (in the pic you can see her foot rotated inwards and knee bent)....she sits down a lot, but does run pretty fast when she wants to, she is almost 4 weeks old now
the vet said her ligament was ok and in place, and that it was too soon for xrays to find anything, but am just looking for others take on this or any tips or things I can do or find out about.....

Hi and :welcome!

Are you already providing supplemental niacin? If not, what you're seeing could be signs of niacin deficiency. What do you feed her?
yes we are giving her niacin (polyvisol) and also nutritional yeast....and vet prescribed metacam.....we were feeding her mazuri waterfowl starter......but now thinking of switching to the large pellets for adult geese
we do tend to think is an injury because she did accidentally jump off a high ledge at same time this started.....but again vet says tendon is in normal place and too soon for xrays

honestly dont know if she checked hip, will call her up
It’s probably not the cause but I just wanted to add that just in case, I’m thinking the hock was injured and healed incorrectly if all else is normal.

I’m not sure wether or not it can be fixed, this is a new one for me, if you could keep us updated that would be a big helf to the community here.

I hope whatever’s wrong it can be fixed, if not she might just have a bum leg and be slow to follow the others but otherwise may still have decent quality of life besides the slight handicap.
