Hello! One of my Chinese geese is frequently shaking her head from side-to-side. It reminds me of my dog when she has an ear infection or water in her ears. The gosling is less than a week old and everything else seems fine - she is eating well, is extremely curious, snuggles with humans and her gosling sister, etc. Should I be concerned? I raise chickens but these are my first goslings. Thanks in advance!

I don't have geese, but the symptoms sound either neurological or an possible ear infection, although at such a young age, I'd doubt the latter. If you have any Poultry Cell, I'd put that in their drinking water as it'd give them all a good boost, and if that gosling is lacking something, it may help. See if it keeps going for a few more days after supplementing vitamins, and if so, by then you may have a better indication or more symptoms.

If you you lean neurological, we give a human Vit. E 400 iu with a little scrambled eggs. You could try that too as it wouldn't hurt. For her size, I'd guess 1/2 of the E as we'd give grown chickens a full one.
