Hope it's not a stupid question.. I'm just curious and under-informed on this subject

Currently i only have a few Coturnix quail and they are mostly pets for now. I'm developing my breeding program and I have added some color varieties I like. I do eat thier eggs occassionally and they are delish, but mostly the urge to incubate them is too strong to resist. Quail meat is also very delicious as well and they are much easier to raise and process than chickens.

they have wonderful personalities. The Coturnix tend to be calmer and will eat from my hand. They will sit on my hand and let me pat them, but some are flighty and spaztic. The buttons can't be held or picked up at all. they are just too flighty.

For now i just have 4 female buttons. I'm incubating some eggs in hopes of a few males.

I'll have some eggs available soon if you want them.

I think you were the one that mentioned it on the NYD thread and I told you great idea. I did give anyone who wanted a chance to do the thread, but figured since the time was close I'd start one. Was going to do this anyway on my own, but this is a lot more fun.

I'm having a serious identity problem the past couple of days. Bill and I LOVED being Aquarians and now I'm supposed to be a Capricorn??? Nope sorry, I'm staying as I am. Once your Aquarius, you're always Aquarius! I fit it too well, down to the weird ideas and spaciness. Anyone else upset with the changing of the signs???

OH and yes a contest page would be great!

Wellie eggs are here ! I won 8 and got 10. These are bantams and I lost my little roo, so actually hoping for ONE. LOL

Amazingly the box wasn't smashed. H,, neither were the last two I got. wooo hooo I may have some luck this time around.

Yes! I am actually really mad that they went and changed the signs. I mean you spend your whole life as one sign and then they change it?????? Stupid! I have always been an Aquarius and I will stay one. It has been the same old way for years and years, why are they changing it now??? I was even going to get an Aquarius tattoo this summer.

lol i hadn't seen it till a few minutes ago when i saw your last post. i saw that you had the contest on your page and thought maybe if we all wanted to do a contest thing we could add it to the page as well

that was a good idea! This is the first hatch along that i have been with and i just i would help wolftracks out since she was busy with a lot of other things that were going on! Plus i got bored this morning before i went and tended to my flocks

I'm actsually sad... the first hatch i did myself i had only a few hatch and they had bad legs... not spraddle leg but one kinda crooked leg. Then the dog got most of them and i was left with one crooked legged chicken. Its a Roo and he is friendly but his leg is starting to get worse... i may have to cull him

She's an Aquarian too.

It has to do with the planets and the way things change, so don't remember how far behind we are, but I still fit and I'm wearing it! LOL I've never gott along with most Capricorns I know, so I don't wanna be one. LOL

I have a brother that is Gemini. I called him the two face guy. Seriously he is, but now my brother who is Cancer is suppsed to be a Gemini??? I don't think soooooooo. He's a little crabby at times, but sooo sweet too.



So sorry about your chicks and the roo's leg. Hopefully you'll get some this time and everything will be great.

Thanks for your condolences... I don't have a scale I can only guess he weighs around 3 or 4 lbs! Hubby wants to know if we can EST him... Don't know what's the youngest bird you can eat? He's a rir mutt lol
