Chinese New Year Hatch/February 3 2011

I locked down my 17 OE eggs. I have one cracked egg with the part of the aircell side covered in wax, so we shall see. If that one hatches his/her name is 'cracky'.

Heather the cell should be almost smooth and a little bigger on one side than the other. Kind of lopsided. Lotspaints told me yesterday that the other problem happens a lot with shipped eggs and I know I had a couple of those hatch before, but didn't realize it could be from the shipping.

That's a tough one, I am no expert for sure. I have the opposite problem. I have big aircells, So I think I need to get my humidity really high in this dry climate!! I don't even know what to tell you to do, I wouldn't want them to drown if their cells are small, but I also wouldn't want them to be too dry......ughhh sorry wolftracks, I am just not good at that part of it.

well im getting close to lockdown & i think i may have lost a couple of eggs they didnt move last nite. im just going to hope that some of them make it to hatch.
i have been checking in regularly but just not saying alot,
good luck everyone with your hatches.

I rarely see movement towards the end and I do actually have some hatch. lol

Just lock them down and they are probably fine.

I've had the big aircell issues before too. Sometimes I get both tyoes in the same hatch. Don't know why that is,but it happens.

Think I'll ask on a separate thread. hmmm what a concept!

I can incubate like a champ from day 1 to 18 and have almost all of them develop great, It is from day 18 to hatch where I don't seem to be so good. I am hoping this time goes better. I always get nervous when I lockdown. I am waiting until it gets a little darker here so I can candle and then I will be locking down.

Excitedly Nervous.

No responses yet, so I hope someone will come in and answer.

I'm waiting till this evening a bit too.

I just want these to hatch! I'm tired of zero hatches or a hatch and they died.

Sorry wolftracks.I don't know.
Have you thought about asking in a new post.
Will maybe get more responses.....

My condolences for the losses..............
It's just hard for sure...................

Daisy.I have the same battle..
The Christmas hatch I had was awful....
And I know the chicks had grown and they just did not hatch.
I did have a dip to 20 in humidity when I was not hone Christmas eve..but do not know how significant this would have been
..
So much to learn.
I am doing lockdown in the morning......my temps have run a bit low the whole time.
I have an LG..........It settles in at 99.5 and not a problem to keep it there.
But cannot get it to stay at 101....it is still air...............
Good luck all
