Hi new member here in southern catskills new york. I haven't had chickens since I was a kid. We got three rhode island red pullet hens two weeks ago and got our first egg yesterday labor day, hoping for another today for that first omelet. I have a chipmunk that is getting into the feeder and leaving droppings in there, does this pose a health risk to the hens?

from the Finger Lakes of New York! I would not say a health risk so much as, do you really want critters eating up your feed? If chipmunks can get in, then other nasties (like rats) can get in to eat eggs and other devious things!

I don't think chipmunk poop is dangerous, but I would definately do some research
