Yesterday morning I had chirping coming from my eggs (this is my third time hatching by the way) and shortly after that the humidity went from 64 to 74 and then I removed some of the towels inside the incubator and slightly moved the eggs accidently (not jarred just scooted down a little but remained in the same position) but have heard nothing since then. They are due to hatch today and I was wondering if I should be concerned about this. I can't remember how long each of the steps took for my previous hatches and these are bantams which I have never hatched before. A little history on these eggs is that I got 18 in from Ebay seller and out of the 18 only these two were viable and I have so wanted some and so am anxious as to whether they will hatch or not.

Why did you remove your towels? Were you using them for added
humidity or just to lay the eggs on? Your humidity is suppose to be higher at hatching time. Don't let it fall.

I am using them under the eggs to help keep the incubator clean upon hatching as I am putting another batch in this week. I had tore off part of one of the towels because it was too wet and the humidity was getting too high. Tearing off part of one caused the eggs to be pulled down a little bit. Still have not heard a "peep" from them today. I hope everything is okay. Anybody have any clues why they are so silent all the sudden?

I wouldnt worry about the humidity being too high on the last three days. And small movements should be okay. After one hatches it usually walks all over the other ones so it is unlikely a small amount of movement like that would harm the egg. Lowering the humidity to much will though, it is very important right now. They should hatch with in a day or so of chirping, if all is well. Are you seeing any movement or shaking of the eggs if you "chirp" at them??? Is today Day 21? Are they shipped eggs?

Good Luck.

I had all three of mine hatch yesterday. I did a no no and added water to the bator the night before they hatched. My humidity went down to 60. With the added water, it went to 75 and the hatched the next morning. When my first one hatched, it knocked the other two around so much that they had to start on the other side of the egg (they had already tried on one side....were lying on that side after #1 bounced around). They all still hatched and are doing great today. Mine chirped quite a bit when they first started pecking at the shell, then were REALLY quiet until they hatched. Worried me too.

Give them another day or two before you worry too much. One of the ones that was supposed to hatch yesterday hatched before the one that should have hatched Saturday

. I hope everything is okay and please let us know.

I have tried chirping at them but see no movement or anything. They are on day 21 and are shipped eggs. I am going to wait another 2 days till I really freak out but it is very hard to do. I will let everyone know what happens and thanks for the input.
