Chirping from inside egg in incubator

Good morning all,

This is my first post - and I know that this question has been asked many times, but I'm still not sure what to do..... if anything!

I have a small incubator in my kitchen. This morning I noticed that there was a very small chip on the shell of one of the eggs, but it looks as if the membrane is still intact. There is no noise from inside the egg and it is not rolling. Do I wait? Make a hole in the membrane? Help the chick out?

I have also noticed chirping coming from inside another egg.... no cracks in the shell. Again - should I just wait?

Is it Day 21? Good luck!

Thank you!! My husband wrote the date they were laid on the eggs...apparently the ones thatcare hatching are from the 13th, 16th, 18th and 20th February. ..The first chirpy one has made quite a big hole now and is still chirping away, but doesn't seem to be trying very hard to get out...lazy thing!!

This is my second batch and I think I did everything wrong with the first batch as only one chick hatched, but he did not survive and it was really sad! :hit   My husband decided that the other eggs were never going to hatch (this was a few days after the one that did hatch) and got rid of them - however, on cracking open one egg, there was a fully formed chick inside and that made me feel awful.

I would be very, very grateful for guidance!!

Many thanks

How did your hatch go or how is it coming along?

Hi Rooster... sorry not to have posted an uodate before, but I was waiting to see how one of the chicks was doing, but unfortunately he died about an hour ago - he was very weak and couldn't stand up, poor thing. However two other little chicks hatched before he did and they seem fine, chirping away at this very moment! ! No sign of movement in the other eggs, but I'll wait for a while to see if anything happens. So very pleased with my two chicks - I've called them Byc (get it??!) and Tigger!

So sorry for the loss but super happy with the hatches. Good luck on the others.

It's terrible isn't it! ! I never thought I would be so chicken mad.... My three silkies have laud loads of eggs in separate nests and I'm really hoping they will sit on them soon I have two little hens in my top garden with 5 new chicks between them, and two other little hens are sitting on 15 eggs between them!!

And it gets worse and worse. ... Do you have any idea how long I should leave the other eggs in the incubator before giving up? They were put in at the same time as the two chicks who have already hatched...
