Well, its 845am here in Rhode Island and my 6 week old Wyandotte is chirpy as all get out. She was just so tickled pink to be eating her crumbles today. Perhaps she is trying to convince me that today is a great day to be outside...again. Here in RI, we have had an absolutely horrible winter and the spring is just now getting to be tolerable. I mean, really, 34 degrees one day and 75 the next?
So, my Mildred, is just chirping away and just loving life. I think she's chatting with the Starling that poops on my deck from atop the oak tree. yes, the awful oak tree that turns my deck green and gives my lab lots of acorns to chomp on in the fall....THAT oak tree! Its my mortal enemy!
So, I will oblige and bring my Millie out with her flock. And what a motley crew they are...one buff Cochin bantam (Lilly), two insane Sultans-Banshee and Hillary (why did I get this breed again?
) and my two lovely silver laced Wyandottes-Mildred and Bossy.
Back to the Sultans..really, these two are nuts. They are not "easily handled" or "easily captured" as the breed description says. They are the trouble makers who get shavings and dust all over my kitchen, the yell bloody murder-hence their names-when I change their cage, the hoo and hah over every little movement. Are they Labradors in chicken clothing? Because my chocolate Lab is about the most sensitive barker on the planet. Its like having a trippy alarm system that you can't shut off. Do the Sultans ever calm down or do I have THOSE birds? You know.....THOSE birds
Anyway, I love them all! They are my girls and they make me smile
