Hi everyone, this is our first post so bear with us. My wife and I finally decided to take the plunge. Living in Chix hatchery country we thought it would be better for our family to enjoy the benefits of free range layers. So having grown up on a dairy farm as a kid I knew what I wanted our building to be built from. I have picked up a couple extra ideas from all of you and have appreciated your posts. So I got my girls from one of our local hatchery. Without a building standing I've been busy these last couple weeks. Not sure how to load the pictures correctly but its comming to a close.

Welcome to BYC!

What a beautiful little coop! Your flock will really enjoy their new home.

Enjoy your new chicks and welcome to our flock!

Thank you all for the wounderful welkom. Our family resides in Zeeland/Holland Mi. We started off with 15 girls. 5 different breeds. But ended up with one of my New Jersey Giants growing very slowly as compared to the other 2 siblings. I was thinking that he was at the bottom of the order. Being a little concerned I decided to get 3 more and segerated the 4. To my surprise she turned around and has caught up to the other birds and those 4 are quite close. Been a hoot to watch and looking forward to this fall for eggs. Thanks again. Chad.
