im in north east texas an i can run 1 pair to the ac.an i can bale enough hay to get them through the winter.in south texas its a cow to 5acs or more.in west texas it could be a cow to 40acs.this year we baled 60acs an made 183 5 by 6 round bales.did not bale 25acs.then sold 40acs standing hay.an that made 125 5 by 6 bales.so thats 310 round bales.we run 60 to 80 cows an heifers.an we feed 80 to 100 round bales a yr.an feed hay for 100 to 120 days.
