Chloe's 8 new ducklings (More Pictures added! pg3)

Poultrypatch,

She's not "sitting" yet. She will add fluff and wait until her clutch is larger. Scovies will wait until they have anywhere fm 10-20+ eggs. If others are contributing to her clutch it may get quite large. Chloe only had 13 eggs but that was due to me taking some out and adding them to another nest. Chloe probably laid 20 eggs before going broody. Even when your neighborly Scovy begins sitting, she may only sit at night before sitting through the day. You don't start counting the 34-36 days until she begins sitting all day & night with just a short break or two to eat and take a quick bath.

Keeperofthehearth: Thank U so much for your imput ! Much appreciated. I didn't know what was going on. I thought the eggs would get cold...30 - 40's here in MA at night.
I've very "thoughfully" provided her with a huge pan of water.,..big enough to sit in, and lots of duck breeder pellets....which she enjoys very much. So does DH duck.
I never liked the 'Scoveys...then I started to watch them, love the way they wag their tails. Also all those marvelous colors !
Thanks again.

Keeper, In the first pic, it looks as though Chloe has 4 sets of twins! What color will the darker and lighter ones with the four dots be?

Sounds like she will have quite the variety! She is beautiful! Of course, we will want to see updated pics of Chloe's and of the other protective moms and their duckling also!!
