Chloe's First 2021 Hatch-A-Long!

I candled again, and all of the bantam eggs I set are developing! One of the maran eggs got scrambled and quit tho, and I'm not sure if the rest of them are fertile or not, but only time will tell, I guess!

Yes it wouldn't show up on camera but much more pronounced in person! They are even moving!

Today is day 4 for mine, I've got some duck and guinea eggs in my incubator as well. I plan to candle and take pictures on day 10 but I probably wont make it that long I'm so excited I cant wait for little chicks to start hatching

I've heard very mixed things on it. I do and I haven't noticed anything bad from it.

Day 8 for my eggs just came to a close, and I candled again today. Of the 15, we initially thought we had all fertile but four possible blood rings, though didn't want to say in case we were incorrect.. Glad to say we still are at 15 fertile, and actually only have TWO blood ring eggs! All others are healthy and moving around like crazy! They were NOT pleased with being out of the incubator, apparently. Haha. Thick shelled egg is still difficult to see, but looked to be some movement, so I have high hopes for it! Begging for a good hatch here

Generally I candle every three to four days, just to be safe. I dont like to mess with them much, and I candle at the night turn so I dont disrupt them unnecessarily. Depends a lot on if they're more fragile breeds or if they're prone to issues pre-hatch. Generally it won't hurt healthy eggs with healthy embryos, but it is a point of contention for many in the hatching community.
