Chocolate brown loose stool

Some of my 8 week old turkeys have chocolate brown loose stool. All are eating and drinking well. Seem happy and healthy. Is this normal for turkeys ? They are still on medicated chick start and pasture. Keeping them on chick start to keep them light to fly. Pets only

It is normal for the stools to be loose when they consume large amounts of water during hot weather.

It is harmful to the poults to feed them chick starter. It is not only too low in protein but also does not have the proper amounts of lysine, methionine or niacin. This can lead to leg problems and short life spans.

If your turkeys are BB turkeys, they will eventually get too heavy to fly no matter what you do. If they are heritage turkeys, they will still be able fly even when they are adults.
