Chocolate filled eggs...

Good question. I think once they are cleaned by bleach and water or vinegar they should be fine. I blew several out today. But I think the best ones to do would be the little bantam eggs. My daughter said she wants to make confetti eggs. Not sure how to do that.

More detailed info on how to sterilize the eggs you plan to fill with chocolate to prevent SALMONELLA

Sterilize eggshells: Submerge them in a pot of cold water with one tablespoon white vinegar; bring to a boil, then simmer, skimming foam from surface, 10 minutes. Let drain on a pin board (see how-to below). If not dyeing eggs, let dry completely on pin board, two to three days (check insides for mois-ture).

Thought the person who asked would like an answer to that. I know I did especially before I tried to make them. I have eggs coming out my ears.

So I've been testing this and have had some rather unexpected results. I managed to make a cheesecake egg! I also did a dark chocolate and blood orange soft ganache filled and a salted caramel filled egg. I'm actually going to test baking cake batter in one sometime this week! Fun crazy stuff!!!!

My little eggs are perfect to fill with chocolate. My kids are super excited about doing it. I should be doing them by the end of this week. Thank you for posting this. Something the kids will enjoy and who doesn't love chocolate ? Yummy. I only wish I had more people to make baskets for.
