lildinkem, very cool shade of brown, I like that.
What color did they turn out to be the other half of the year?
Mine are chocolate all year long, they`re born chocolate, molt and grow back chocolate.
My roos however are not chocolate colored, just the hens.
Look up Large fowl Chocolate orps, they`re not the same color as the bantams. They`re the color of mine.

well, I'm not sure about american customs but you could actually put a pack of eggs in you backpack/ bag for hand luggage and you'll be able to pass as i did that when i went on holiday and had bought something similar through
Import to Mexico than walk across the border with a carton in your backpack?
I've thought of it, yes...
I have family in Texas too... so, I fly to the UK, visit the different farms collecting dozens for $20 a pop. Hop on a plane from London to Mexico City, then drive up to Tejas, catch another plane back to San Francisco and them I'm home!
I think the flight costs, plus all the travel costs and the exhaustion of traveling basically non stop (because you would have to do this quickly in order to maintain fertility in the eggs), not to mention taking the time off from work... all of those factors would out weigh just importing the birds from the comfort of my home. I dunno though... it might be a fun adventure!

OK they are simlar but how did you get them this color?
My best guess is that the sun bleaches them to that color.
I didn`t get them to be this color, I was lucky enough to hatch them out of a blue line Orps I had.
The sun has nothing to do with these, they`re born this color and remain this color their entire lives.
