my two fat hens that i've never seen give eggs had the butterscotch color smelly poops.

i thought "that's it! that's why we have no eggs! they're sickly!" now i know that they're just probably too old or really good at giving eggs and running so as not to get caught!!

Is this chocolate poop part of a mature bird's digestive process? (In other words how old are they when this kind of poop begins?)

We recently brought a new hen into our group of pullets. As far as I can tell she is the only one with this kind of poop...

I know she eats broken up egg shells like crazy. The others don't seem to care for them - at least not yet... Could it be the calcium that creates the choco pudding poo?

Well, I remember now that Professor Chicken said that excess salt in their diet can cause a loose stool.

All birds have cecal poo, but some seem to have less. If I had to guess, I'd say it's the food hogs that have the big nasty gooeys.
