No thanks, I saw your listing on ebay as well with at least one tom and a hen that clearly has barring in the wings.
Those are not pure.
They carry a bronze gene.
A pure chocolate will be solid brown.

Here's your pic that I am referring to with the unpure chocolates showing barring in the wings.

As you see here are two chocolates a tom and a female!

I agree. when I saw the post, I figured it was someones attempts at restoring the breed resulting in the birds described. They should be solid chocolate color, each and everyone. Do you have them? It would be nice to get what there are of us chatting togather.

I was also looking at Kevins website and thank you for saying the chocolates should not have the banding on the wings, they should be all chocolate. I'm trying to learn what I am looking at and for... the descriptions help a lot!

Ohh no the birds to the right of that tom are standard bronze the pic of the three has the chocolate hens and tom that i posted!

Heritageturkey is correct on the tom in this pic, he is carrying a single bronze gene. Good eye. But I can see why the bronze hen to the right was confused with a chocolate mix as being in the shadows does make her look brown.

But that tom in this pic is definitely not a pure chocolate, I put some arrows in the pic pointing out a couple areas where he is showing signs of a bronze gene expressing.
There is white barring in the primary wing coverts above where you clipped his wing. And there is also a white tip on a rump feather or two. A pure chocolate would not have that.
But good news is you can use this tom to make Auburns, another rare variety, if you are breeding this tom to that bronze hen you will make some auburn hens, you will also get bronze toms (carries of e brown) and you will also get barred black toms (which would also be brown gene carriers) and you would get barred chocolate hens too.

Your other chocolates appear to be pure.

P.S. It's taken me several years to get my chocolates to a pure state BBee , I just had to work with what was out there.
I also did some crossing into blacks as well just to put in some genetic diversity.
