Chocolates

The one on the perch is the one on far right I gave the other to the guy I got my rp's from he had never seen one. So I gave him the light blue of the two they were both males. After seeing a real buff of jleigh now I want those instead of cinnamon and buff dundotte far richer color. Lol ugh !

You have slate would like to see good pic of them? Lady wants to trade rp's for slates this spring.

You may hatch some Buff keets, from your Lite Blue (or Opaline) male and Chocolate or Blonde Hens...

Sorry I big you so much I like learning as a kid I blew my mom away when adults you up come and sit in my backyard looking at my pigeons and chickens and try to wheel snd deal me out of them I had many varieties and won at every pigeon and poultry show I entered guineas are knew so I'm reading and absorbing as fast a I can. Sold all my birds in the early 90's paid for 2 years of college. I kept my old Oakes metal incubator I've had it 30 years or so! Lol

I don't have any Slates, so sorry no pics... the only non-pearled birds I have are 2 Pied Powder Blue males from my 2011 hatches, and 1 Pied Sky Blue Hen from my 2012 hatches. Gonna see what they produce for me this coming season, and possibly work on producing a few more non-pearled colors down the line, tho I'm not really a big fan of the non-pearled colors/varieties.

Slates aren't as common as RPs... so if you like Slates then go for the trade. Keep in mind tho, that anything non-pearled you integrate into your flock will be recessive to your fully pearled or partially pearled birds.

Is there a genetics color breeding book in print? I've been looking for powder blue male to go with the 2 coral hens

Come spring everybody will be color separated as best I can if I have the breeders I want if not then ill make fo and some boys will be happier. Lol

Nope, I'm not further confused. I understand now. It won't matter to me what "W" is, except when selling keets, because then I'll need to know more than "Uhh...this is a light one and this is a dark one". By then I'll be able to tell. I won't be unhappy in the least to have browns from my Chocolates because like I've said before, I'll be happy with whatever I get (except all pieds, which is off the table now). LOL, since I'm such a novice at all this, my only real requirement is that they hatch and live. :). Color assortment will come down the road.

Thanks Peeps and guineaguy!
