Dun Genetics

i was NOT thinking when i’d reserved these chicks.. i’d just learned that they’re dun chocolate rather than sex-linked chocolate. they’re a mix of chocolate, mauve, and chocolate splash. WHICH, i’m okay with. i just need to adjust my plans a bit. i’d planned on using them for more than just sex-linked choc F/black M pens, but obviously the genetics are different.

does anyone have any useful charts or info on pairings and offspring color results? my original breeding plans included chocolates, mauves, chocolate splash, blues, blacks, and splashes. i’m trying to understand if i can still cross the duns with BBS.

additionally. being that the genetics are entirely different, would would happen IF i paired sex-linked chocolate with dun chocolate?

Dun follows the same rules of Blue, but instead it's a black diluter found on Dominant white. It's an interesting mutation. I've got Dun Malays.

You probably wouldn't know which is which if you crossed/mixed the two colors.
