One of my two roosters was crowing today and when I came upon him he was making a short hoarse noise repeatedly and was flopping on his side. His comb and wattles turned deep purple as he continued to roll and make this "gaking" noise.
He came over toward me as I moved to him. Gradually he slowed his noise and stopped. His beak was open for a moment and he gradually returned to his red color and steady strut. He has been fine the rest of today. He has struggled with the crowing thing and has always had a unique 'grumbling' tone to his clucking. Any Ideas?
