Choose the automatic door

I bought a metal auto door on Amazon and it is JUNK!! Closes on on timer only, light sensor never worked, and only opens 3". Have to take the whole thing apart to change batteries. Seller pulls it off site with bad reviews then reposts fresh, boo. I have filed a complaint with Amazon. Now I am looking at the Omlet.

I am happy to say we usually had over the years most battery reports of lasting well over one year and even more than 2 and as much as 3 years. Then a few years ago there were lots of phone calls about bad batteries, to the extent we have been selling the ADOR1 and ADOR2 with free battery included, so that a new customer doesn't go buy a bad battery and think it is the fault of the door. We have found a good source of batteries and we test them on our own tester we made, that tests the battery under loaded conditions. So if anyone has difficulty finding good lantern batteries, we sell excellent 6 volt lantern batteries.
We do sell a carbon-zinc 6v lantern batteries on our website but these days I recommend a Lithium 6
Just make sure you don't buy the cheap knock off. You can tell most of the them because you can see a silhouette of a chicken. Butt it is not supposed to be a silhouette of a chicken. The depiction is the shape of the creators home country(or ancestry) of Slovenia. I am guessing that the people making the knock off either think it is supposed to be a chicken or put a chicken so it looks alot like the original and people wouldn't really pay attention. Either way they give themselves away.

v battery you can buy on Amazon. You recharge it each 6 months with your phone charger. And we also have a battery replacement for those with electric power to their coop. Even if you run just in the winter on an extension cord, it is an advantage if your temperatures dive deep below 0 deg F.

I’ve had the Ador for about 6 or 7 years now, and can’t recommend it enough! I change the battery about once a year, just to be safe. It is mounted inside the coop, and even though I bought the remote light sensor, I never installed it. The door opens & closes fine with the light coming in the windows.
Next time it is time to replace the battery, either get our 120v power supply if you have electric power there, or this Lithium should last years if you charge it every 6 months with your cell phone charger.

What is Wrong with the design? Can't just say that and not elaborate.
BTW, we often get calls from people who have purchased the cheap foreign doors and I can not say why MagicL said the Hentronix is a bad design but I can attest that I hear so many brand names of the cheap doors being exemplified as ones that failed, that name being one. But ok, things can quit working, but then what? What's the warranty? Can you call for troubleshooting?

Can you go online and buy replacement parts that are user friendly to replace? That is something to consider unless you want to keep buying a new cheap door over and over. We have a full catalog of replacement parts and a phone number to call for help with AdorStore automatic doors.
