We have 4 birds, and have had up to 7, three were roosters. We gave away the roosters because of ordinance rules.
Anyway, we live outside of Tucson, AZ, and have hot summers and can have cold winter nights, although those don't last long.
We currently have 2 EE, one white Leghorn, and one Bantam.
We have room for 8, but prefer 6.
I'd like steady layers who can tolerate the heat.
Any thoughts? Thank you.

I've read that these breeds do well in the heat: Barred Plymouth Rocks, Speckled Sussex, Orpingtons, Welsummers, and Barnevelders. Good luck to you!
