Greetings all. After a successful foray into quail hatching last year, I'm moving up to bantam chickens. In an attempt to hedge my bets, I purchased eggs of three different breeds from three different breeders. The breeds are: Serama, Grey Japanese, and Pile Old English. If all goes as planned, we will enjoy the chicks for about a week, before bringing them to their new home in a friend's coop (after they grow out of his brooder.) While I would love to raise backyard chickens of my own, we have a mean, mean, mean, mean HOA that prohibits outdoor fowl of any kind.

Welcome to BYC! What part of Virginia are you in? I am near Gretna. I have spent ages building my coop, trying to finish up if the weather would cooperate.
Do you still have quail? I would like to establish a colony.
Have fun checking out the site. Lots of interesting threads here to participate in.
