That's a joke. I grew up on a Methodist/Presbyterian/Amish area (my parents moved from Loretto area, where everyone was Catholic.) I don't actually know much about Lutherans except as it relates to Martin Luther.

We think were the original Catholics following the original catholic doctrines . We never left the catholic church we still believe Jesus merits alone save us. It was The pope that gave us the name Lutherans. He didn't like the bible being the original pope either.. so he told Luther you pope is a paper and ink pope. yes and it ALSO Gods word to. And other roman Catholic popes have agreed with us that the bible is Gods word. with out saying so but by what they have said them selves.

Funny the Lutheran church had a large influence on Wesley the founder of the Methodist movement.

My mum sent us to a Methodist Bible camp when I was nine. (She said we should experience other [Christian] religions.) The Bible Camp people were nuts. And not in the "Jesus Freak" way of which I approve. They found out my family was Catholic and it was as though they had found out that we were the children of Satanists.

I've never been able to summon up much interest in that religion after the head-lady accused me of paying a girl to rig a drawing.

Don't judge the whole denomination over that, many many Protestants are anti-Catholic. There is many people who hate anything different. I disagree with many many beliefs of the Catholic church, but I don't hate Catholics.
