Hey people, just thought I would share with you a poem I recently wrote. I really liked how it came out.
I don't want to offend anyone, I just wanted to share.
I don't want to offend anyone, I just wanted to share.
I thank you
I can never understand oh Lord why you would give your only son for me?
I did nothing to deserve such Grace, such everlasting Love; it’s hard for me to see
Yet you showed me love when I was cruel, when I turn my face away
I disowned you and trampled on your name, day after day
My soul was black with unknown sin; your son’s was white as snow
He did absolutely nothing wrong, perfect like heavens glow
He died a horrible death, where I was meant to be
Nailed up on a bloody cross to make me clean and free
You turned your face, Lord, from your son who carried all my wrongs
And gave me grace and welcomed me with loving outstretched arms
He died for me, he knew the price, yet paid it all in full
So I might know and show his love to others who need you still
I can either take this gift accept it in my heart
Or leave it there forever lost and grow slowly apart
Although I may not understand your love I am so thankful that its there
I treasure my blessings and all your mercy and care.
Sometimes I feel or think that you are not always around
But I have to remember that those are the times you carry me across the ground
For taking my place, dieing for me and taking all my sins away
And showing me your amazing love,
I Thank you Lord today
