Christmas Hatch

I wish you a lot of luck. Hopefully your little peeps week be happy and healthy. I started mine last night. Temp is hiding at 99.5 with less than a degree of variance. Humidity is at 25%. Which is where I want that. Trying to do a dry hatch. Hopefully it will work.

I'm sure they will be healthy and happy, but I'm hoping they will be the right shape and size. I'm hoping to improve my flock by only keeping the best for the next generation. So far I have only one second generation bird that's a keeper. Even at six weeks of age I can see she is better than generation one. I sure hope I get more like her.

Hi StelleKitten! Hope your hatch goes well. Will keep fingers crossed for your special egg.

Just started my first hatch 2 weeks ago for duck eggs and 1 week ago for chicken eggs. I think it is going pretty good at this point. I might have a humidity issue, but I have no clue how to lower it when I am running the incubator dry.

I have chicks due in 7 hours. I went to check on it a bit ago and the temp was 95.5 on the crappy LG. I raised it a bit and have to go down to make sure it didn't shoot up too high.
I've heard a faint peep or two.
I have a lone month old cockerel that needs friends.
I'll be setting early on the 4th for my zodiac HAL.

My avatar hen started to brood today. Now to decide if I let her hatch eggs or wait; a matter of room. It would be interesting to see if her eggs are viable and are frizzle too. Her first clutch was infertile/clear.

ok giving it another try with less eggs in the Lg delux, not impressed so far hopefully chickencanoes advice works.

Just set 6 ameracuana eggs, 1 barred rock , 1 white leghorn and a buff orpington egg that we had collected from our flock

I had a lone leghorn barred cross from 3 weeks ago but she wants to eat the 2 new babies from last hatch

i just put my eggs in the incubator yesterday around 4:45 pm on December 2. I'm hoping i will get few fuzzy presents on or before Christmas eve. i have put in 12 eggs. i got the eggs in the mail but the mail took 10 days and i have my fingers crossed that the eggs are still viable. humidity is around 40% and the temp steady around 99-100. first time trying to hatch eggs. I'm so excited but lets see what happens. wish me luck :)

Good luck.

I'm hoping to have more serama eggs being incubated by the end of the weekend. But the natural way. If all goes the way it has in the past two of my hens will be broody by Sunday. With my last serama chicks, just one won't be culled. I'm hoping to have a little better luck this time. A nice rooster chick would be great; hens too of course.

I hope you get more eggs this weekend!

I will work for standards as soon as I get actual incubating down to an art.

Thanks! Maybe try putting in a piece of cardboard in it? I don't know if that works but it would absorb moisture, or maybe a small bag of rice?

I hope they came out all right!

Hopefully the new serama lays one for you. As I type this I have eggs all over my kitchen table for sorting weighing and cleaning (some muddy ones from all the rain).

Good luck!!! I really hope they peep out just in time. They make such wonderful little gifts and they do all the opening (hopefully).

I just did my one week candling (yes a few hours early, I'm not waiting until midnight lol). Out of twenty four eggs placed in, I see beautiful veining on all but three. One had a nasty red ring of death. I left the three in there just to see if veining will develop over the next two days or so. One of them is the egg from Sparky, the chicken who died. But her eggs were speckled and dark brown so I may just not be seeing the veining. One egg was upside down!!! And that little chick was moving! I could see the dark spot just swimming around. I spent almost three hours slowly rotating it so that the end with the air bubble was at the top. Silly dark shell. I really hope that one makes it. If so it's name shall be Aussie. :)
