Christmas in October block Swap

Ok ladies I need your help/input I have found a Pfaff Power quilter 3.0 (looking at my receipt I think it says 3.0), I can't find anything on it on the net the 16 keeps coming up. It is a sit down like the handiquilter sweet 16, link to pic http://www.handiquilter.com/machine/hq_sweet_sixteen/ the Pfaff comes with the table/ table extension, the mat for easy movement of the fabric, the stitch regulator but the store that has it will no longer carry Pfaff so they are trying to sell off all Pfaff machines at cost, but they will train me on the machine and give a one year warranty and there is a place that services etc these machines, drop off is at the store so having said that oh price is 4 grand. I put a deposit on it to hold it while I think about it. It is what I'm looking for in a sit down, and the stitch regulator uses the puck, which so does the sweet 16, so anyone familiar with Pfaff?

I am not familiar with the Pfaff sit down quilting machine. I did try the HQ Sweet 16 and the Innova sit down. I own an INNOVA 26 in. long arm but have a lot of experience on my Janome 6500 quilting. I liked the HQ Sweet 16 over the Innova sit down. I did not like the puck on the HQ Sweet 16 sit down but had no problems operating it without a stitch regulator. Pfaff is a really good brand. Can they work with you and let you try it out before committing to buying it? there are HQ Sweet 16 sit down on Craigs list occasional. That is in Southern California.

Right now there is a Tiara sit down

Is this the machine?

this looks like a machine on a frame. Maybe there is a sit down version?

No that is not the machine, it doesn't have the handles, and looks like the Tiara/Sweet 16 sitdown. Yes they will let me play on it and I did and it works just like the 16 with the puck system.

If they have one with a build in stitch regulator go for that. The puck is a pain and your resale will be much lower and harder. I know you are not looking to resell but you never know.

Hmmm yes the link was to a sit Tiara on Craigslist in CA. Just saying maybe you can find a slightly used sit down quilting machine.

used the puck

katsdar, I have not used one of these type machines, but I have watched several on utube that used the puck setup and knew that for me they would be very irritating. I would get fed up with the pauses to move it and my fabric. Just my opinion. Hope you get the machine you want.

Hi,
Thanks I am still sitting on the fence, but when you going to spend that much money you better get exactly what you want. To me it's a once in a life time purchase.

I have my MR mostly done just have to put the finishing touches on it, meaning binding.

Check out this web site I found, course I'm sure you all know about it already.  I'm the one who usually is the last to figure thing out :D .  But this site takes all the figuring of the blocks, sizes, fabric requirements,   for you.

Oh no, I hope everything is going well. Both of you get all the rest you can. My prayers for a quick recovery.
