Christmas in October block Swap

It had a really nice happy atmosphere. We were greeted by the assistants handing out tea and coffee! If we spent over £20 we were given a free fat quarter. Don't you think the shop looks really cheerful. I'm sure I will go back.

I finished my last block in the "boomerang" swap (another site) I've been working on, just to show how color and fabric changes things, both these blocks are the same pattern, but I used striped fabric on the pink one cut at opposing 45' angles, but w/ the blue one I used flying geese.

I learned a new to me way to make flying geese enmass, no waste, no bias edged, starting w/ squares and chain piecable! what's not to love!

@kasaundra beautiful both designs

@majack love the quilt shop, and they have some fabric on their site that is just beautiful, it has the dragon fly in it. nice fabric to choose from and it is so easy to spend money in shops like that, with the wedding I have had to curb my quilting spending but wait till it's over.

Wow what a difference Kassaundra. So much movement in the blue block. You will have to let us know your flying geese secret.

Very Pretty! Love the blue! I love the way a pattern can be made into so many designs!

It really does have a nice atmosphere! Very bright and cheerful! It was just beautiful! It is a lot like this quilt shop I'm going to. They didn't have the tea and coffee, but I read where they do offer it sometimes.
