Christmas in October block Swap

You won't believe this but a quilt shop about 45 min from me is starting the Lucy Boston POTC BOM yes gotta join, after the wedding, everything is after the wedding.

Fascinating, but have to admit those lost points were driving me crazy! (not in a good way either, lol)
Yeah I noticed that too figured there could be a way to get around it. Have to play with it
Well poo I just made several of them lol here's one for my new quilt This for the swap This for mine
Very pretty and what is wrong?
I made those before I aw that post you put up....it IS the exploding block

I like it...I think it gives it a country air.....but it is much like horses...I suppose ...once you know what you are looking at....things stick out to you if it seems wrong. Fortunately I don't know much about right or wrong...I am afraid some people will be highly disappointed by some of these blocks...lol some turned out great...some ....eh. But it is what it is and every single one is sewn with love an awe that they are going all over the world. And than you Kass for being such a lovely encouraging force...thank you.

I think your fabric choice mitigates the missing points, the fabric you chose is more "country" and the different square sizes in the print keeps the points from standing out. If all the points are missing it looks like it is suppose to be that way, but the quilt behind her on the wall had missing points on the actual blocks but intact points on the other parts of the quilt, making the missing points look messy or a mistake.

Pretty much my thoughts. I think you hit it spot on with the country fabrics and the primitive look. I actually like it but then I do like primitive quilts in general. Please be sure to post when your top or quilt is done.

Has anyone every done a french braid, friendship braid, texas braid type of quilt? do you have and pointers to give me?

No pointers, I almost did a small French braid (the size of one block) but decided the block would be to busy and not show off the picture fabric well so I did a "modified" one. One day though I will do the real French braid. Here is my modification

It was just as easy as the log cabin block.

I have a thing for " country" of all types... Whether it be french country....shabby chic, I just love any thing vintage....the squares I showed y'all ended up being some of my favorites that I made...I didn't wanna show them all or nothing would be a surprise.... But anyhow here is a " country" queen size tack quilt. ... made with country, cowboy type fabrics....he is 6,8 so it had to be a whooper! Backed with a decadent,( hard to work with) chocolate colored, rose swirl minky and made for my adopted " son" Tyler. He is a wonderful young man...
