Christmas in October block Swap

ok I was trying to do something different with the MR binding, doing an accent binding so it would be a contrasting color, a 2 in one, It didn't work for me. so it will just have the plain ole regular binding, anyone know how to do this? I had found a tutorial then lost it, I couldn't figure out how to do the corners so it wouldn't be so bulky.

Oh, chicks-among-us~Bless your heart! I'm so sorry for the passing of your daddy! You can see the kindness and goodness in his face.

Ladies~I'm soooo sorry to say that I am not going to be able to finish my Christmas blocks!

I did not follow advice from ladies on here, or from the quilt shop ladies. I did not make up a mock square. I was well on my way to getting it done. Last Friday I went to the sit-n-sew at the shop. I finished cutting the last of my pieces. Started sewing them together and asked one of the ladies how to use the quilt in a day triangle square up ruler. She started to show me and discovered my triangle was not the right size. The pattern I was using, which I got off of the internet with very little instructions and it used templates. I had already cut all of my pieces. To make a rather long story short, I had to purchase more fabric and re-cut after the shop owner re-figured the correct size of the pieces. So all weekend, I re-cut to her specs. Started to sew them together. The first one came out not good at all. I had to take out each seam at least twice. It took me several hours just to make one square. I need 4- 51/2 inch squares for each block. So the next square went together a little better. Today, I looked at the other directions that I hadn't paid attention too that she gave me. That made things a lot easier!

So I made the other two squares, got them all squared, but somehow I'm not getting it right. They are hst. I can't seem to get them squared correctly. I'm going to have to take at least one apart and redo. I haven't made one complete block yet! It is taking me too long and I'm not going to get them done because we are going on vacation next week. Then I'm really busy when we get back for the first part of the week. I had planned to take them with me, but they are proving to be to difficult to get done quickly. I did start on them back in June. but decided to change fabric in August, got busy and didn't get back to them until 2 weeks ago. I have learned my lesson. I am going to try to get the mugrug done though. I hope you all can forgive me for backing out on such short notice. I despise not following thru something I've committed to. I did so want to do this one! I'm sorry it is going to cause some one to have to make up my block. If I hadn't spent so much money on the fabric, and cut it all twice,.. I would find an easy block and do it.

Ugh no fun after purchasing fabrics and spending all that time. I hope you can repurpose the cut pieces.

Oh! Oh Happy Chicks! How frustrating! Sounds as if you need to get away from it all for a bit! Nothing to forgive. These things just happen sometimes, just weren't meant to be. Here is a virtual hug to make you feel better

don't beat yourself up too much, it's ok, we understand and glad you let me know so I'm not waiting on your blocks, I think we can say at one point or another we have all had blocks that do this to us. I know I have, but these blocks are not due till the 31st and we are never right on the date, so when you get back from your vacation and you still want to make your blocks and send them I'm sure they won't be too far behind, just a thought. The 31st is the target mail by date not set in stone. I still have to hear from the rest of the swappers. Just let me know when you get back if you change your mind and if not that is ok too.
