Christmas is approaching

It might not be healthy if they eat pieces off it.

My quail have white holiday lights all of the time for extra light at night. I added an extra string of regular tree lights the other day. I think I may add my last strand, too!

It's really for me, of course.

Besides, I already put my tree & other decorations up!

The critters all get gifts on Christmas too. I don't wrap them, though.

The gifts are food, mostly. I will probably get the dog a toy if I can get to Petco. (She's picky...)

My ladies first Christmas - will be a great one I hope - there will be lights on the coop and yes I plan to do them each a stocking - not sure what I will put in them - but some kind of chicken things... like my dogs , my chickens are family now

I bought battery-operated strings of lights, and pre-strung garland, both with timers on 'em, to put on the coops this year. Plus a battery-operated w/timer wreath. I'll be decorating during the weekend after Thanksgiving.

I do NOT normally decorate in the house except with "flameless candles" and some greenery on the fireplace mantle.

But I scored last month when some of the BYC folks discovered the lighted holiday CHICKEN figurines on sale at Lowe's, and I picked up a set for my front yard. A rooster and two chicks "singing carols" and wearing scarves. *snorting with laughter*

So the front yard and the back yard with the Chicken Compound will be all decorated.

Lol, you are all making me want to buy the chickens presents now! It's nice to know that most people pamper thier chickens. I think I might put lights on the coop now and paint a chicken cut out chrismassy colours (or colors for you americans)
