Christmas is coming early Hatch-A-Long!

Pics
The NR360 has a much larger vent, so that one I actually close to a crack to try keep humidity up. It's got another hole about 1/2" diameter on the other side too so I think there's more ventilation than what meets the eye with that one.

I looked at my Brinsea and it's just that tiny hole with a twist cover for it and no other holes. Quite a difference! I'll show hubby and see if he thinks we should drill a hole half the size the NR360 has. However, maybe I should leave well enough alone. If the wheel doesn't squeak, don't grease it.
I'd like to drill some holes for a humidity pump for sure! Or I'll "have" to get the Brinsea EX model to be my hatching incubator and just do the first 18 days in my Advance. Easy fix 🤣

Awwwwwww!!!!! They are so adorable!!:love Congratulations!
You got a nice variety of colors! I love Star's gray color.

Poor Eggnog and Jovie.:hit I'm so sorry!:hugs
This is my second ever hatch and first hatch in the winter, I've learned more again with this hatch so nothing has been wasted even though I wish more chicks had hatched.

We still have the 6 white silkies in the incubator! Lockdown is tomorrow! My friend finally let on to her bf that she's getting chicks for Christmas 🤣 he's so proud... lol

I've been looking at my splash and black silkies I bought and seeing which names fit them, we had such great names on this hatch-a-long! ❤

Six more Nu babies on lockdown this AM! I took the jam jars out and replaced them with a bread loaf pan. The humidity climbed to 82% and within 30 min is down to 70%, I'll check it after work tonight, it may need the jam jars and sponges too. The room humidifier is going through about 3 gallons if water every 24 hours on the medium setting, on high it shakes the floor and I don't want to scramble our chickies

I candled them all quickly, they look full and dark and no streaking or puddle looking places, so I think we are 6/6 in perfect condition at lockdown!

:woot Go eggies go!!

Yes a bread pan should do it, great idea!! :highfive:

I was trying to find something that wasn't too tall to fit under there, and not so shallow a chick could fall in. Come on Paula Dean and work some humidity magic! Actually, they might not be Paula Dean, but close enough!
More volume, more humidity! Excellent idea!! 😊

Grinch is an EEx white TSC silkie cross. I don't know genetically what color the EEs are, but I have one brown EE (Maple) so I'm assuming it is Grinch's mom, and 1 white EE (Fig) which must be Max's mom. As both eggs were laid the same day, we have to have to have 1 chick from each pullet 😊

We could meet in Greensboro NC? Not teleporation, but a possible transport solution 🤣

@TwoCrows Noel and Grinch have to be Nu babies, they both have 5 toes on each foot and Nu had the correct # of toes and Heavy didn't! I don't know about Max because it only has 4 toes / foot.
Don't tempt me. If my husband would let me drive that far for my Grinch baby I would! Maybe we can talk shipping eggs this spring? 🤔 You do have some gorgeous babies <3 and if Grinch is a girl? Def wouldn't mind continuing the line etc lol.

With the size of the bald comb spot, and it seems there's already a little bump there, I suspect Grinch is indeed a he... we typically end up in NC around Easter and Thanksgiving.

I will be working on my NPIP certification if all goes as planned in 2024! Then I'll be able to ship eggs 😊

Look at this chocolate eye candy!
