Christmas lights

We put them up last year for the first time, Mr. Saddi all dorked up happy to do it "a dad thing". We get to the end and we're at the plug.... and it's the socket end of the lights.....

Yep he hung them backwards, stapled them into place and then thought to plug them in to see if they worked....

So he got a screwdriver, and carefully unpried each staple, flipped each strand and rehung them.

We're not doing lights this year.

We used to do lights and outside decor, but like gritsar why put them up when you only have goats ((sorry, don't have cows, we have goats) and being out in the country, no one to see your hard work.

DH HATES Christmas lights with a passion. He's kinds like the guy in Bob Rivers "Twelve Pains of Christmas" (what, we have no extension cords?!--we do, they're just hooked up to the chicken water heater) but our daughter likes them, so we grit our teeth and put stuff up

Gretchen Wilson is from the Pocahontas, Il. area, just a few miles from where we live, and you know what her one song says about Rednecks and lights up all year round. We see alot of that around here!!

I would have mine up (but not turned on..) already but since they want $12 a box Ive got to wait to buy the rest till next week

Those things are a little expensive! I have a very long house and garage. They dont put but maybe but 37 feet in a box.
...and Im not a big fan of the way the LED lights look...
It just doesnt look christmas to me. It looks "space age"..

We put ours up on Sunday!! And we put lights up in the house a week or to after Thanksgiving. I love this time of year!!!

Mine have been up for two weeks. I put up the tree yesterday.

Not all the lights one can buy now are LEDs (although LEDs last longer and are more budget-friendly in the long run). I love the old-school C9-sized bulbs.

I normally put mine up the first of november but this year I have not had the heart to put them up . but I will be tomorrow anyway my tree will go up wed night after dd gets home, my youngest wants to wait till sissy gets home to do it.
