I love the idea of not seeing Christmas decorations come out til the first. I don't know if I'd have the heart to make it a law, but I tell you, mid-October is no time for Christmas music!
That movie sounds funny. I'm going to try to find time to watch it.

So, other people are talking about a Christmas pickle...where did this tradition come from? I hadn't heard of it before.

When my kids were young I tried to do alot of different ways of celebrating Christmas. We even celebrated Hanukkah even though we are not Jewish just so they would know different customs and ways. I never did Bleigiessen I think I will order one of these so we can do it this year. My kids are grown but they still expect the reading of the Night before Christmas when they come over Christmas morning. I think they will enjoy coming over to do Bleigiessen. And I agree that it would be wonderful if we had no Christmas out til December 1st. They way it is now by mid December everybody is so burned out that it loses alot of the meaning of Christmas.
