I'm not done with it yet though... still have to put the tree skirt around it and make the garland of popcorn and cranberries...

I'll take a pic when i get it done..

Our first tree was a hand me down artificial. I had it for several yrs. It was the ugliest tree, skimpy branches, not full at all. When decorated it looked pretty nice. Finally after many more uses we decided to get a new one. Even though I was excited about my new tree I had a sad feeling when I parted with the well-used and loved one. I often think about just getting a Simple Charlie Brown Tree now that my kids are getting bigger. I always feel the simpler the better!!
 
vfem! You inherited Grandma's Christmas Tree! All that's missing is that revolving color plated spotlight!

For real... makes me sad. I would have bought the tree in a 5 gallon container and planted in my yard for that price!

We cut ourselves a real tree, so we wait until December 15th to get one.
 
DH and I in our little apartment our first Christmas had the Charlie Brown tree. Quietly collected from the trashed lot of weeds next door, the three foot tall loblolly had 4 or 5 branches and the whole thing bent over under the ten-light string.
