Chronic Respiratory Disease???

We have several chickens that have mucous discharge from nose, cloudy swollen eyes and are gasping for breath. We have been trying to find information on these symptoms, what we can find it sounds like CRD?! We have put these chickens in our garage by themselves. Is there anything we can do to treat this?

But you should know that even if the birds recover from this , they will be carriers for life , you can not sell this birds or their eggs.

Personally I will put them to sleep , dont waste your money

Desinfect the area and wait few months before you introduce new birds.

I hope these articles help you. Keep in mind there are other things that can cause respiratory problems, and so I would advise you to call a vet to see if they will do a test to see what it is if you can. Some don't want to involve a vet, and I certainly respect that.

I posted this in the wrong darn section....should have been in the Diseases section and I don't know how to move it. Thank you for your reply. Does it sound to you like it is CRD? My husband wants to put them all down also....I am trying to save them

However, if you handled a diseased bird at a poultry swap meet for example, then you return home and handled one of your healthy birds...there's a good possibility you just infected your bird.
