Always thought the albino chukars were neat looking birds!! Been digging in the archives on here and can't really find a lot bout space requirement. Couple threads I did find one said they was ideal to be on wire and 1sq ft per bird was good. The other thread said they should be on the ground and not overly crowded or they'll "pile". I would like to get a trio or maybe a quad one rooster 2-3 hens. Figured if I did best of both worlds and put them in a raised pen with deep litter in the bottom id still be alright? Anybody have this set up? Was thinking maybe if I did like a 8' wide x 4' deep x 3' tall pen with a couple hidey holes and a higher 1' wide shelf I'd be alright with a trio or quad? All you chukar experts am I in business for a few chukars with this set up or no? Any ideas much appreciated!!
Thank you!

Well on gbwf it says they do best with a minimum of 64 sq ft per pair,so I would say the 64 sq ft per pair would work for all partridges.A wire base is always best but I had good luck with washed masonry sand for a base.
Your pen is good size, but I like a pen that I can walk into if needed.I had 4'hi pens when I was young, but find that 6' hi is best for me.

I would love to have a walk in pen/aviary but I'm being hesitate on what kind of pen I'm building right now. Where I live right now isn't where I wanna spend my whole life and eventually plan on moving to where I have plenty of room to build such pens. Same reason I'm not building any pheasants pens right now cause my design is pretty much permanent. Unless there's designs out there for the walk in/aviary style pens that would be some what easy to move? I have my own 16' x 8' flatbed and acess to bigger goose neck trailers if need be. I've never sat down with pencil and paper trying to design my own just stuff in my head. I've never been able to come up with any good ideas on movable aviary style pens though. Anybody have any input or ideas on this subject?

Thanks
Luke

I built my pens 12x12x8,split them in half to get 2-6x12x8,built another 5'10" from the first one and joined them together. This made it easy to move I just took them apart at the 5'10" section and moved them in 12x12 sections.I tied them to the trailer wherever they met the frame of the trailer and off I went.I did have to move them in the early morning when traffic was low because of the 12' width.
The pic is my pen a few years back,I have since added 3 more 6x12x8 to the left of these pens.
