I agree with everyone else, and also had a similar experience. My hen had a massive chunk of skin under her wing torn off. I didnt notice for at least two days, and it was extremely dirty. I rinsed it out with betadine and water, applied manuka medical grade honey (10 times better than neosporin), and bandaged it so she couldn't peck it, every other day for the first week. By week two she had healthy granulating tissue, and the old skin flap was trying to reattach, so I left it alone. I cleaned around it every other day, nothing rough or thorough, and she kept healing. Somebody here advised me to try granulated sugar, and I highly recommend it. Look up sugar treatments for wounds, it's become popular for veterinarians. You apply ointment (bacitracin, neosporin, honey, etc) then pour sugar (any kind, doesn't have to be sterile) over the ointment. My hen was healed in 4 weeks, had mild scabbing by week 3, it was incredible. Good luck with your girl, she looks very tough.
